West London's Slip 'N Slide presents a four-track remix EP collecting some of the biggest contemporary remixes of the iconic house duo released digitally from 2023 to 2024. The New Jersey-based house act fronted by Josh Milan and Kevin Hedge made a name for themselves starting in the late 90's with absolutely essential house tunes like 'Lovelee Dae', 'My Beat', 'When I Fall in Love', and 'How Deep is Your Love'. They also recorded music under several aliases including Black Rascals. Genre-crossing producer Atjazz returned to Slip 'N' Slide with a previously unheard remix of Blaze's classic, 'So in Love'. Kevin Hedge & Josh Milan released under many monikers, including Black Rascals, dominating the house music scene in the aftermath of the legendary Paradise Garage. The production duo brought an R&B feel to house with rhythmically vibrant productions like 'So In Love' featuring Cassio Ware, which received a Peak remix from Atjazz three decades after it first made waves in club spaces. Now Atjazz is back in 2024 with an official remix blending the soulful feel of the original with jazz techniques and modern production skills to create an otherworldly soundscape. Blaze's 'Wonderland' received a remix from revered UK DJ Jimpster. Featuring Blaze's Josh Milan on vocals under his Alexander Hope alias, the late 90's original served as a benchmark for the sound of the new millennium, with soul and R&B influences taking dance music in a bold new direction. Now, Jimpster's take on the soulful classic stabilizes the track with a classic four-on-the-floor beat, while still allowing the mellow, free-flowing feel of the original to shine through.Blaze's 'How Deep Is Your Love' is remixed by longstanding hip hop and deep house producer DJ Spinna. Featuring Blaze's Josh Milan on vocals under his Alexander Hope alias, the 2001 original was a favorite among selectors thanks to it's arresting harmonies birthed from Blaze's soul and R&B influences. A Brooklyn native whose influence on American underground music is undeniable, DJ Spinna's remix of 'How Deep Is Your Love' capitalizes on those powerful vocals supported by impeccable synth-laden production. The soulful house classic 'Breathe' from Blaze receives a remix from vinyl aficionado Natasha Diggs. A connoisseur of funk and rare grooves, Natasha Diggs honed her craft in NYC, curating immersive sets that pay homage to the golden era of music and co-founding the groundbreaking, community-centered Soul in the Horn parties. Her taste level and skill has led to appearing on line-ups and sharing the stage with the artists like Honey Dijon, Mark Ronson, Grandmaster Flash, Jayda G, and Erykah Badu. Her remix stays faithful to the original's iconic saxophone and trumpet-led sound, sprinkling in her tasteful flair for smooth grooves and delicious synth work at every turn.Tracklisting:A1.
